Combine innovation with an objective and validated tool to measure how your culture is perceived. Use this information as a powerful starting point for change in your organizationCVF

Every organization has a culture, whether it is created consciously or just left to chance. Edgar Schein describes organizational culture as “a pattern of shared basic assumptions that the group learned as it solved its problems … that has worked well enough to be considered valid…” In this workshop, participants will work with the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) to measure their current and preferred culture. The OCAI is based on the Competing Values Framework (CVF), developed by professors Kim Cameron and Robert Quinn, and is one of the most influential and extensively used models in the area of organizational culture research. The International Journal of Business and Management states “compared with other models and scales, the CVF and its matched scale OCAI have better validity and reliability… and are very convenient for practical operations.”

The OCAI will provide the following:

  • An awareness of culture as an important factor in success
  • An objective and validated measure of the dominant culture of the organization
  • A clear image of the preferred culture
  • A measure of contentment by assessing the difference between current and preferred culture
  • Important data to identify necessary activities to continue and/or change to meet the organization’s mission and vision

An objective and validated measure of how culture is perceived is a powerful starting point for change. Using the information provided participates can return to their organization with a proven, innovative way to create the culture – and company – to which they aspire.
